The courses
The courses of The Blairgowrie Golf Club are virtually unique and have that wonderful charm found at very few courses, where each hole is unaffected and untouched by another.
The combination of Heathland and Woodland provides each hole with a peace and tranquillity completely unspoilt by preceding or following games. The pine, silver birch and heather lined fairways provide a natural habitat to be enjoyed not just by the golfers, but shared with the exquisite wildlife, which includes deer and red squirrels, woodpeckers and oyster catchers to name but a few.
Lansdowne Course
Our Lansdowne championship course held the Scottish Amateur Strokeplay and PGA Sprint series in 2011. It offers a more challenging test routed through swathes of pine and silver birch trees, putting a premium on accuracy from the tee. With smaller greens than its older neighbour, the Lansdowne championship course provides a challenging but pleasurable test for all levels of golfer.
Designed by the respected partnership Peter Allis and Dave Thomas, it was officially opened in 1979.
Rosemount Course
Designed by James Braid with influences from Dr. Alistair McKenzie, the renowned architect of the Augusta National course, Rosemount has played host to a number of prestigious professional and amateur tournaments. It was the scene of Greg Norman’s first European Tour victory in the 1977 Martini event. The more forgiving fairways are compensated with larger and more undulating greens than its younger neighbour, giving the golfer a testing but rewarding challenge.
Our Rosemount Course has been described by Tom Morris as, “The most beautiful inland green I have ever seen”
Wee Course
The Wee Course layout is heathland in character, comprising of par 3’s and par 4’s it provides a delightful and charming contrast to Lansdowne and Rosemount.
Formed part of the original layout designed by Dr. Alistair McKenzie of Augusta National and Cypress Point fame.
